Thanks to You I’m Not Alone is a body of work that directly derives from my desire to understand my current personal, social, and cultural state. Throughout my adolescence, my relationship with my queerness has gone through many phases. My contemplation of with whom and where I feel safe and my most genuine self led me to create Thanks to You I’m Not Alone. This work is an archive of the people and moments that have brought me solace during a transitional period. While this series is comprised mostly of portraits of my queer peers, I have also included images of myself. This decision was meant to eliminate my authorship and identify myself as an ally and support system for myself and those that I love.
